Gas related question

So i have been frustrated at my mileage and noticed something today.. When i got to one bar on my gas tank I filled up and it only put in 11.2 gallons.. Is there still two gallons left when you are only on one light? Has anyone else experienced this?

In my experience that guage is a bit unreliable. I have filled it up as soon as all the bars went out and put in 11.5 gallons other times I fill up as soon as the lights all go out and put in 12.5 gallons.

manual says that there should be 1.9 gallons left when the low fuel light comes on (1 bar) therefore if the tank holds 13.2 gallons your pretty darn close with 11.2 gallons put in (rough estimate based on fuel gauge)

Gas thread Nazi

Yes, it is normal and has been reported at a few forums by a number of members. It was part of the Giant Gas Thread that used to be stickied.

(And part of the reason why those members who insist on calculating MPG based on TANKS keep getting low numbers...)
