Question Any way to check the transmission fluid?

Is there a way to check the transmission fluid level on an Si? A dip-stick perhaps? I'd like to see if it's been overfilled at the factory.

use your finger as a dipstick.

1)loosen FILL plug.

2)insert finger into the fill hole to check fluid level. If tranny is over full the fluid would just come out of the fill hole

I've read that many people have found their transmissions were overfilled from the factory. With too much pressure, that causes some of the transmissions issues we've seen, even if you don't take the supposedly poor quality of Honda's MTF. Plenty of people have seen an improvement of just replacing their MTF with stock Honda MTF and using the correct amount. That said, I just ordered some Amsoil to see how that helps the 3rd gear problems I'm having.
