Problem with the Brakes?

I have noticed a couple of times at the exact same spot, a problem with my brakes.. It is when i get on the brakes pretty hard and am going over a rough road with lots of bumps on the right side. When i hit the brakes i get a weird feeling throught the pedal and the car seems to struggle to stop.. anyone experienced this?

Are you sure it's not just your ABS kicking in?

can you also set off abs due to road conditions? becuase when i mean i am getting on the brakes its not really that hard.. i am prolly only going like 40 and have to make this right turn...i thought abs was strictly for just antilock.. do they serve other purpose as well? And does the car have a abs light that comes on when it engages?

No there won't be a light that comes on.

You say it happens at the same spot,is there loose gravel on the rough road?
If your wheels are not getting traction when braking your ABS will kick in.

It's the ABS. Prior to posting this the search feature should have been used. The ABS system in these cars are crap IMO. They go off for any stupid reason and acctually makes things a lot worse. Because of this, I got into a minor accident where I knew the ABS did not need to work, but it did anyway. If I had my way, I'd have them disable that stupid ABS, it makes things worse than better. Lets stick to the old fashion pumping if this was the way the engineered this crap.

My mothers 2004 Accord has 4 wheel ABS and is by far from being as sensitive as the civics. If I wanted to, I can get the ABS to kick in whenever I want in the Civic with very little effort, however, with the Accord, you'd only need the ABS when you really needed it. I've braked really hard in that car a few times w/o the ABS kicking in and thats the way it should be.

No, it's just common sense, you'll find the same amount of "good feedback" in that search button as well. Same exact question had to be asked in about 5 different threads. I'm not trying to bash you or anything but just giving you the awareness that this has been asked.

There really is no need for you to waste your time to get the brakes checked, it's just how sensitive the system is. If brake over anything a bit uneven, my ABS will kick in.

Keep in mind that tires will affect how often the ABS kicks in. If you have hard compound (touring, etc.) or worn tires, the ABS will kick in more often.
