Ah, Canadian Tire! I haven't been to one of those in a while, but I think I still have some Canadian Tire dollars lying around here somewhere. :)

why would it? would you lose your warranty if you got your oil changed with non-honda oil?

Using a non-OEM fluid can't void your warranty. Do you think Honda will try to void your warranty if you take your car to Pep Boys and choose Quaker State or Valvoline for your next oil change?

The only way they can deny warranty service is if you use a non-OEM part or get service done outside of a Honda dealership and they can prove that caused the damage. So if you use the wrong viscosity MTF and that destroys a synchro (just as an example) and they can prove it, they can make you pay to repair it. But they can't say, "Oh, you used another brand of MTF, your warranty is no longer valid."

Check out the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

^ That moss act doesn't apply in Canada, however, I think we have a similar law.

Of course not. Anyone knows that poutine is known for clogging arteries - putting it in your transmission will probably clog it up too (while smelling compellingly delicious). It'll also attract more unnecessary polar bear attention... I don't want my pack of huskies trying to eat my tranny either - they only get whale blubber and walrus tusks.
