Glass Issues

Peeps,

I know there was a post about some odd glass problems but I think that was for odd things in the glass.

I now have 7500 miles on my 06 LX sedan and my glass is so scratched it looks like the car has 30,000 miles.

Not only do I have tons of super fine scratches but also have some deep ones. Front, back and side windows alike.

I have to assume some of the deep ones might have come from a gas station squeegee with some rocks in it.

Even my wife comments on a sunny day on the passenger side how bad the glass is looking.

With regards to car washing, my car goes to the same place we always use, same for my wifes 05 corolla and he car has 15000 miles and not nearly as much glass damage? Her glass looks like new and her car is 2 years old.

Anyone else notice this? I think the softness of the glass or the quality has changed and at this rate, after 2 years the glass will be unbearable to look through.

Already on sunny days my eyes are constantly focusing on scratches and not looking through the glass but at the glass.

If this keeps up considering the other noises and small issues with my canadian built LX, I might have to trade.

I don't have any rock chips yet, however, scratches all over the darn place on the glass.

As much as I don't want to, I will have to contact honda care line yet again with more complaints

i wiped my windshield with a sponge, when i put a lil strength into it, there were scratches. The guys at honda washed my car, they must have dried my windows with a towel, scratches. Disappointing quality from Honda.

You should see my windows, you would not believe it. There is definately an issue with the glass hardness or quality!!

The original windshield on my 06 EX sedan seemed like it damaged fairly easily. There were a few deep scratches, a few small rock ships, and one huge "debris" smash. After I got the windshield replaced, the new one seems to be of better quality. It has taken a few rock hits already that would have chipped the original glass, but hasn't caused any damage.

I have no idea where my replacement glass came from, as my auto body guy looked around for the best deal for me. But I can tell you it looks identical to my original glass, with one exception. The new glass has the Acura name imprinted in black in the lower driver side corner instead of "Honda".

I haven't noticed an issue with the quality of the side or back window.

I use those as well and they are pretty darn soft and they damaged my windows as well.

I did a test and regular paper towels with windex also scratched my windows.

Car is going in on Wednesday so I will bring it up as honda care is involved in my many other problems with my car!

Mine has a vertical scratch (you can feel it) on the rear window, and nothing has ever touched it except soft sponges and cloths.

I'm absolutely pissed that I feel like I have to baby the car when I'm de-icing it...

I had a feeling when I posted this original thread people would start to notice that the glass hardness is not correct.

I wish I could show you guys just how bad my glass is.

I would've said something earlier, kero, but I'm a huge whiner when it comes to the paint quality and interior quality...didn't want to upset people.

I feel like a whiner as well. Its just unbelievable how cheap the materials are on this car. sigh............................

My glass his little scratches and swirlies also, 1600 miles. Washed carefully, however since this thread came about i now know i cant even use paper towels on my glass, LOL.

I have friends with older civics and their plastic is more durable than mine.

Same here, many of my friends have older civics, accords, integras, etc etc. The interior quality on their cars are amazing....... unlike the quality our cars.

Many people on this forum have had more than one Honda Civic, and they say that the quality issues most of us 8th generation members complain about were not problems on their older models.
