I believe that is the TSb warning techs to watch out for people who skip shifts.
The act of skipping gears during upshifts places wear on synchro's causing hard shifting.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration number

If there's an issue, they give it a reference number.

i don't quite see how up shifting can cause any problems as long as you match the RPMs correctly. If you let them drop down to where they need to be before shifting up, then you should be fine, even if you skip gears. however, if your at 8000rpm in 1st and shift straight to 6th w/out letting the RPMs drop to about 1500rpm, then that would definitely cause wear.

Well i never skip shifts when upgearing. However i do skip shifts when downgearing sometimes. Like i might go from 5th to third, or i might go in to nuetral then the let will turn green while i'm coasting and i'll just out it in 2nd.

Explain, please, considering a few cars actually have skip-shifting features from the factory.

Wonder if the last-generation-made Camaros + Firebirds (Trans Am's & Z-28's) had this problem with the 1st to 4th gear automation.
