'07 Si tranny problems?

I have read several posts regarding the 3rd gear problem in the '06 Si and also in the RSX type S. I'm referring to 3rd gear popping out or grinding. I haven't noticed this at all in my '07. Does anyone have an '07 with this problem, or has honda fixed the problem?

I've ground 3rd 3 times since I got the car, but I don't know if it was my fault or the tranny. Other than that, it doesn't pop out of gear or anything....but I only have 1300 miles. PS nice color

I have an 07 Si and had 3rd gear pop out once. Brought it to the dealer and they looked @ my gear box, linkages, and syncros and they said "everything is fine". No problems as of so far and i have about 2000 miles right n0w.

I didn't have it happen until just after 4000 miles, it does it more often now.
I'm thinking of taking it in to have them change the fluid but I'm afraid they'll play stupid.

06 SI here. I have approx 15K miles and have the third gear grind regularly when the car is cold. Once is warms up it seems to be fine.

Third is usually pretty notchy and it'll grind every once in a while. It gets better when the car is warmed up, but it still happens. I've been meaning to swap the transmission fluid with GM Synchromesh, I've heard that can work wonders.

'07 Si here, when the car is cold the 3rd gear grinds, I'm thinking about Amisol of GM Synchromesh, any opinions on which is better?

AMSOIL SYNCROMESH 5w30 MTF

Just changed this to this fluid 2 hours ago and it fixed my 3rd gear problem !

I have to do more on-highway tests using random rpm's and speeds, but so far, it's great. Seems more smoother, and 3rd gear goes in nice.

Service department still has my car. They installed the HFP clutch and Comptech short shifter and changed the engine and tranny oil to Mobil 1 and GM Syncromesh, respectively. They said there are currently no problems. They love the GM fluid so much, they've ordered a ton of it. There was a car with a RIDICULOUS amount of transmission issues before mine and it's been sitting there for weeks. I told them two days ago that they should fill it with Syncromesh and they said the car runs like gold now.

Hope that helps.

I think the Amsoil fluid is cheaper though.

LITTLE BACK STORY: ok. well lately I have been getting 2nd and 3rd gear grind a lot. before I hit 2000 I had it only once. When I bought my 07 Si the tranny linkage didn't have cotter pins to hold on the linkage bushings. Around 750 miles I finally noticed it didn't have the cotter pins (because the linkage popped off when I shifted from 1st to 2nd). I took it to Honda and put cotter pins on only ONE of the bushings (they missed the second one, which I took back the next day and they put one on that).

NOW MY QUESTION: If not having the cotter pins for the first 750 miles on the linkage bushings, can that ruin the syncros of the gearbox or mess up anything within the tranny itself?

Sorry if I'm thread jacking. :)

07 Sedan Si here...3rd has popped out 2 times on me with less than 50 miles on the odo while cold (3rd is notchy). Warmed up it doesn't happen. Now I warm up the car before I drive, atleast 4 bars on the temp guage.
I also slid my seat up so that shifting into 3rd will not be at the end of my reach, just in case.

My shifter moves while in gear.... I noticed it after I got the car back from the alarm shop >=/ Taking it back to the dealership sometime this week. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

is it a slight movement or like you are still shifting?
