Si losing power

My car has just hit 4k and it just feels like it's losing power. I mean its pretty weird because the Vtec sounds meaner, but its pretty hard to scratch 2nd gear now. It used to be as simple as 1,2,3 and now sometimes it won't even scratch at all. Is this because I needa go get an oil change since the engine has finally broken in?

What the hell is scratching a gear?.

do you mean grinding?. I googled scratching a gear and got only things for DJ's and all that other stuff.

After 4k, your car wont loose power. You will need an oil change when the indicator light comes on to tell you that its needed. I was denied an oil change early as the break-in oil needs to be in there for a certain amount of time apparently.

some people refer to chirping the tires after a shift as "scratching"

Could it be your tires, or possibly you've worn your clutch prematurely?

Ya, I can't spin my tires from 1-2 now either. I think it's that my tires are worn or the weather (colder conditions=colder road+colder tires=harder to spin the wheels). I just dynoed mine a few days ago and I got 175 at the wheels (not on a dynojet either)...

After my break-in, I was able to "scratch" my tires from 1st gear to 2nd, and from 2nd to 3rd.

13,000 miles later, I'm still able to do the same. Same tires.

I've heard of people (not Si owners) "glazing" their cluthes. I wonder if that could be a possibility.

I'm sorry, but who gave you this incorrect information?

Colder pavement + colder tires = LESS traction

could it be that the psi in your tires has gone down a bit resulting in softer tires causing more grip?

dude honestly.. Stop using acronyms. If you think you're cool using acronyms then dont post, because you arent helpin out anybody that dont know what they are. It frustrates me and im sure others feel the same..

MTF? WTF?

.. seriously in parenthesis you can atleast put what it stands for, this way you can look 'cool' like you want to and type it out too.. If you really are too lazy to type it out.. DONT type anything that's gonna confuse somoene even more, please understand that not everyone has been around on forums, and around cars as long as you..You're being counterproductive.

I respectfully disagree. MTF should be obvious to a car enthusiast. Acronyms are fun!!!!!!! anyway

Well, Im new to cars, and MTF means NOTHING to me.. Sure it does now, but what good is it gonna do me in life? Am i gonna go to an AUTO store and ask for MTF? no. I dont think so. Most of us here type almost friggin 100 words a minute, im sure typing it out wont kill you. I mean after all the ultimate goal is to help each other here right?
