cant turn the wheel!!!

well my car is at the dealer's getting fixed.it all started auto zone.i was getting some stuff for my ajp turbo kit.as i get into my car i turn the car on and go to back up and to my surprise i am unable to turn the wheel!!! i pop the hood look around, wiggle a few wire and get back in.well i turn on the car again and probl. the steering light is on and cant turn the wheel.i was able to drive to the dealer b/c i was able to turn the wheel enough to get there but it was very tuff.

any ideas of what is wrong?
has anyone had the same probl.?
also i have the dc headers,do you think they will make me pay for the fix even though steering have nothing to do with headers?or will it be cover by the warrenty?

Atleast your car started. My car didn't even start today. Had to tow it to the dealership to get it looked at. I think I drained my battery and they had to replace it. Good luck with your problem, my guess it something with the battery.

That blows. Keep us in the loop. I read somewhere on here where someone else had this but not sure if it was an SI or R18. As far as the headers go, it depends on your dealer. Some will try to bluff you and some won't.

well the law states that you can have aftermarket things on your car and the dealer cant void your warenty for it,but only can IF the after market product is the direct cause for the problem.

in other words they cant void your warenty if a shock goes out and you have an aem intake.
now if your engine blows b/c a rock got into your aem intake then they can

^ i know that... im not saying that you will not be covered by the warranty..its the 8thgen civic that have too much problem.. i heard, car wont start, shutdown, syncro prbos, gears popping, notchiness in shifting, oil leaking, then you have a steering problem..i mean, whats next?

i do remember we have a Electronic Power Assisted rack and pinion...

i guess its a part of a security system that once the key is not inserted, you can't turn the steering wheel., and maybe you blown a fuse for that if we have one..

i dont think its the security thing b/c if it was it wouldnt let you start the car if the wheel was locked and if it was all you would have to do is turn the wheel to the right while turning the key.and there is no fuse for it i checked

Are you sure it was locked and not just really hard to turn. if the power steering goes out, its hard as crap to turn the wheel.

was the guy that put your headers on a shop or a guy? If it's a shop you can get them to pay for it.

Make them since they broke federal law by removing the cat. Tell them you'll report them. It's worth a try.
