If you have a non-si I would just recommend oem power steering fluid instead of mixing some aftermarket brand in.

ALL 06 Civics use Electric Steering.....meaning no PS needed......

.....IF u own a HONDA that uses PS.....u should ONLY use HONDA specified PS......other PS fluids wear out the bushings inside the steering rack.

I can't confirm whether or not the Si has electric power steering but I "can" confirm that my '06 EX sedan does not. I just went and looked, and found the reservoir with the little red cap that says, "Use ONLY genuine HONDA power steering fluid."

Well, on the Honda website, when you compare the Si to the EX model, it shows both have "rack and pinion" steering.
Don't know though if it uses power steering fluid.

rack and pinion is just another name for steering rack........pretty much every car made has a rack and pinion

So the Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering that is says on both the Si and the other models are different? I didn't know that. The site gets a bit confusing when you click on comparing models. For example, in the comparison section, it shows that the Si has a Mcpherson Strut front suspension but the Ex has "Independent." When you look at the EX specs on it's own though, it reads that it has a Mcpherson Strut Front Suspension as well.

i was always told by many many diff. technicians that honda steering racks need Honda Genuine PS Fluid b/c of the bushings inside....i guess that other PS fluids r too aggressive or something and will mess up those bushings.....if it said it was for Honda cars then i guess it might be ok.....but i would just stick with the Genuine Honda stuff.

yah, the regular power steering fluid was hella cheap and when i saw the honda power steering its like 3x more the price. so hopefully i get what i paid for. thanks for the advice.
