Jump !

I have an 07 Civic LX. I think I have read about this problem in 10 different threads, but I can not remember the answer . When you move the shifter from R to D, does your car jump(I think when I do this, I can also hear a weird noise coming from the back)?

Thanks

I can hear it shift gears and it then starts moving forward, what do you mean by "jump"

Try this on your car. Put the shifter in R and move backward. Put the shifter in D. After shifting to D, quickly move your leg from the brake(you can do this while your are shifting). When I do this, the car moves forward very quickly for a short distance, and then it starts moving smoothly.

I hope you understand what I said [oh man my english sucks ].
Thanks,
Amir

I think I get what your sayin, I try to come to a complete stop before going into drive. putting it into D while moving backwards doesn't sound very good for the tranny and I would not recomend it.

I did not mean that. Let me tell you another way to try it. Put the shifter to R. Move the car. Stop completely. Move your shifter from R to N. Release the brake. Move the shifter to D. At this point, I can feel a jump.

I would never put the shifter in D while the car is stilling moving backward
