WHINING NOISE?

This just started last week, when i start my car it whines every time my RPM goes up. I know its because the car is still cold but after the temperature gauge hits the middle point. It still whines. I mean the car is warmed up and still whines. but after like 10 miles of driving its gone. Is it the transmission? Everytime i rev the car up it whines, the higher the rev the louder the whine.

Maybe you accidentally installed a Comptech supercharger without even knowing it.

Happens when the AC is on. The window-defrost is also AC, whether or not AC is selected, FYI.

Acctually, if you pay attention closely, you should hear the 4 cylinder whine. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but mine whines as i'm accelerating. My mothers 4 cylinder accord does the same thing. It's very miniscule but it's definately a whine in the system. I have the SI though and i'm not sure what car you are driving

It whines, sounds like when you turn your steering wheel while the car isnt moving. But its hecka loud. the only way it comes off if i drive for like 15 miles. when the other parts of the car get warmed up. i am not sure if its the tranny, maybe or it can be the power steering? i dont know because when i turn the steering wheel it whines a lot!

I just recognized this on mine about two weeks ago. I also thought someone installed a comptech s/c and started laughing to myself. But it is good to know that it is normal. It is very faint, but you can definitely hear it if you know what to listen for. Kind of a high pitched wine that gets louder with the revvs.

Whine n Cheese

Hello yea i have a 07' SI sedan and you know i hear dat too when i start her up and thru all the gears, I thought i read somewhere that the SI's have a rerouted intake system similar to a cold-air type for the 07's not sure about the 06's. Also and i know this is not related when you start her up for the first time does your RPMS's rev high and stay ther for a while??? i guess im being lazy and not doing a search

Mine do when it is cold outside, say 40 and below. I think the colder it is, the more pronounced the start up rpm. It depends how high yours are though. I think when it is around 30 here, mine will hang around 2100 for a bit until she warms up. But again, I have an 06.
