Rumble sound?

Lately I been getting what seems to be a "mmmmm" vibration noise when I step on the gas slightly... coming from the front. It varies though, if I step on the gas more... it goes away or seems so. If I step too little, it may not or it may but if I step it to a certain amount and just right... it is very noticable...

A rattle, or vibration like problem from the front... I can't think of what besides the possibility of the radiator resevoir or bumper?!?!

Any ideas. they seem to check ok, help! oh and I notice it more when going up a hill!

If it happens between 1300-1700 rpms and is really pronounced at 1400-1500rpms then use that link that av911 provided, look for the TSB # for the fix for the buzzing sound. Take it to the dealer and get it fixed, good luck!

I printed out the Honda TSB, and will go to where I bought the car this weekend to get it checked out. Thanks!

I may even call later today to have it talked and schedualed so incase they have to order the part. They can do so now!

nice, keep us posted. I got the tsb done nearly a month ago, and the noise is gone. You might still slightly notice the sound, but it's nearly impossible to tell, no more rumble at all.

Was it random? because sometimes its noticable while other times I have to try and make it noticable or maybe it just won't happen.

I notice it more when going up a hill or elevation rather then flat and I am taking it in tomorrow morning.

For me, it wasn't random...1400-1600 rpm. When going uphill, it tends to hold at that rpm.

Its not a whistling sound, its more like a rumble or vibration.... like bbmmm or mmmmmm. If I let go of the pedal it stops, if I put a bit, it may happen aid if I put a lot it doesn't
I checked my vin, I am not sure if its in the list but it is a 1h just the alldata isn't very detailed for me to be sure I am in there according to vin.

I am going in at 8 tomorrow to let honda check it out

Try keeping your rpm's at 1400rpm at a slight incline and kep it above 30mph. I think mines was the most obvious @ 1400rpm and 38mph or so up small hills/inclines.

Welp... I am at the Honda dealer right now.... the waiting room to be exact.
Jason, yours sound like mine. Its most obvious on inclines at low rpm... ever since this happened. It feels as if the shift won't drop when needed *staying high rpm* for an auto! I filled up this morning prior coming to the honda dealer. I calculated... only 28mpg compared to my previous 3-5 fill ups of at least 33mpg.

I gave them a print out of the link of the alldata.
I asked how long, they said roughly 1-3 hrs depending what the problem is. I told him. If you have the part, just change the drive belt as mentioned in there. All the symptoms match very closely, if not exactly.

I hope this fixes and gets my mpg back as well as the annoyin noise, shift and its a new car! I just hit roughly 4,1xxk only today!

Now I am waiting, kind of bored... wish they let me test drive an s2k... hahaha I will hit the show room next. Wish I brought my nice camera now....

Ok I am babeling so I guess I will type something more useful. Uhm... The holiday is near, everyone keep your car clean and out of sight if you plan to pack. Use your trunk! is big, roomy and useful!

Are you auto and manual transmission? Did the fix make a difference for you?

What do you mean Auto and manual?

Mine is pureley auto not manual and civics don't have sport shifts... "auto and manual"? That is the first I heard~ hahaha

The symptoms seem to be gone but I can't be for sure yet until I test it more but so far, I do not hear the vibrations anymore and the shift seems to be responsive when it needs to downshift. As oppose to when this started to happen. It would stay at, say 3k and unless if I push it more, will it drop.

I have a manual. Took the car in this morning for an oil change and mentioned the rumbling/buzzing at 1500...they've ordered a new belt and will install it when I return from vacation on 1/5/07. No questions asked.
