Brake issues
Hi Everyone,
Snow just started late last night and so far its not been a good experience. First off, whenever I brake on snow, the brake pedal vibrates like crazy and the car makes a really loud rumbling noise. The whole car rumbles along as well. Is this normal? Every time I brake on snow grounds I'm having trouble stopping and its getting quite dangerous. I drive a manual tranmission and this is a 2k6 coupe. My previous car (auto tranny) did not have this problem at all so I was wondering if this is normal? Should I bring this to the dealership to check it out? Thanks! |

What he's doing is skidding due to the snow and speed at which he's travelling. To activate the ABS, he's breaking hard everytime he drives on the snow which is why the pedal vibrates. ABS is kicking in and it's normal. What is not normal is going at a high speed on the snow, the breaking hard, skidding and blaming it on the ABS/brakes. But on second thought, take itto your dealership and bitch at them for installing such horrible sensitive ABS. Last edited by striker_1818; 12-05-2006 at 01:54 PM. |

thanks for the input guys.
So do i need to take it to the dealership to get it checked out? I was only driving 30-40km/hr and didn't even do a hard brake and the ABS kicks in already? It's THAT sensitive??!?! Is there any way of getting the dealer to adjust the sensitivity? It's getting ridculous cos everytime I brake on snow grounds it kicks in. |

Many members in here and on honda-tech.com have been having problems w/the sensitivity of the ABS on our new models. Nevertheless, you can't disable it because it is a safety issue(quiet the opposite if you've experience it). Just take it to the dealership and tell him what's going on and if there's an update or a recall for such issue then fill everyone in on this horrible problem.
If you use the Search tab, you will actually find many people driving down the hill over a bump on the road to get the ABS activated thus delaying the breaking or "stopping" on the car which if there are cars coming and you're near an intersection it can get you into a big/small but still an accident. |
