Synthetic w/ Honda Oil Filter

Hi... it might be a newbie question...

I get my oil change from the dealer... its free oil change for a year thats the reason i use the oil that they provide...

recently... i had my oil change... so i got new oil filters and new oil... then after a day i met my friend that used to work in that dealer... he told me that they use recycled oil in their free oil change...

so my question is... i got an oil change last week... and didnt drive my car much since... i wanna change my oil in the weekend with a mobile one synthetic...

should i replace the newly replaced oil filter? or i could use it still...

tnx

change the filter. its only like 5 bucks tops. you don't want to recirculate the old oil in the old filter w/ the new stuff.

Aloha meng! I currently work @ a Honda dealership here the beautiful state of Hawaii. I also own a Galaxy Grey Si I bought here @ the dealer when I first started and I got 500 bucks above sticker price. I too run synthetic oil with the factory filter. And I must say that its just as good as buying a K&N one. Its a part u can trust since its from a dealer, except for the oil. The oil I use though is Castrol Syntec. There are some that tell me that it aint a good oil to use. BUt hey, I know u get what u pay for but basically for me, oil is oil and it doesnt matter to me. Hope u do good with urs as Ill do miine. Aloha my friend.

i remember on my first oil change on my si...the factory filter was on there so damn tight it was unbelievable. i had to bust out a oil filter wrench...and even w/ that it was still tight.

Thats an R18, the Si is a PITA to remove. I personally would just pay my dealer the $10 to change it for me.
