seat belt locks

Any time I apply a slight pressure on the brake, the seat belt locks. It gets very annoying because it stops me from bending over to look in the left mirror. Sometimes it stops me from any kind of manoeuvering since I can't reach to see my side left mirror. Anybody has experienced this annoyance?

just don't use the seatbelt then. just playing i have the problem too, but i got so used to it that the instant it locks up i just sit back really quick so it could unlock. i don't like it much when i park tho b/c i park backwards and i turn around to look behind me a !!!!BLAM!!!! it locks on me. oh well saftey better than that stupid little noise that the car makes when u don't wear it.

side note: i think if every car had that little annoying noise in it like the Civics do, then there wouldn't be anyone caught w/o a seat belt.

The seat belts locks are very sensitive and sometimes it stops me from doing things as well like reaching over to get something etc.

I rather they work really good than not work at all.

It's normal it thinks you are applying the brakes and when you lean forward it will lock. There is a mechanism in the et belt that does this it orkswith momentum.

Along the line of the seatbelts......do you guys have issues when the seatbelt retracts when releasing it....it goes in really slow and weak?

The seatbelt works fine for me, it supposed to lock up when you press the brake. How does it know if you're about to hit something or not? Better safe than sorry
