Fender flimsy

The fender is really flimsy where it meets the rocker (bottom front door).

You can easily push the tops in and out with little finger pressure and the alignment between the rocker and the fender is out a good 1/8th inch.

Anyone else notice this?

I guess i should just look at other cars.

i did when i was detailing it the other day...kinda freaked me out...very little reinforcement...but then again no real reason to bear load there

i just don't want all of our cars looking like the "new" beetles in a couple years with big as-s dents in the rocker panels, seems like every one i see has that affliction

Was a little freaked myself.

Is yours good and flush with the rockers though? mine seem to stick out a bit on both sides

i dont recall mine being flimsy or loose like that when i wash/detail my car... mine's a sedan btw.

I have a sedan. Go out to your car and look right at the bottom where the fender meets the rocker at the front door. It will move with just the slightest pressure.
