CD Player crapped out

So the other day my CD player crapped out in my EX coupe. For the most part it just stopped working and gives me "Disc Error" messages. Every so often it'll play, but it skips like crazy. This is with store bought CDs and not ripped MP3s. I saw the thing about the bitrates being high makes the player skip, but i thought this was ridiculous. I bought the car in February... you'd think it would last a little longer without problems...

So my current plan is to take it to the dealer to hopefully have the head unit switched out for a new one under warranty. If I get anything less than that I'm gonna be pissed...

I just thought I'd give people a heads up to keep a count of how many times this occurs. So far only 1 other SI has had this problem... Hopefully this will be the only ones...

Since it's under warranty, they'll probably just switch it out. It's the cheapest option. Better than spending several minutes or even hours trying to figure out the problem or fix it. They'll just order the new part and replace it.

so I have yet to get a hold of the dealer. apparently the criswell service department doesn't know how to use e-mail... go figure. Anyway, After a day or two I tried playing some CD again, both burned and store bought, and there seems to not be a problem now. I'm starting to wonder if maybe a crap load of dust or something go in there. I'll probably take a can of c ompressed air and see if that does anything. Worse comes to worst, I'll just end up calling and making an appointment to have the headunit switch out under warranty...
