Oil life indicator

I was wondering if the oil life % indicator is something the dealer has to reset manually??? For my first oil change I took it to the dealer and everything was fine. But the second time I took it somewhere else, and later on I noticed the oil life indicator only read 40%. Any ideas on why this might be?

you have to manually reset the oil life indicator, directions are in the manual

its something like put the oil life on the display, then press and hold select/reset till it blinks, release, then press and hold select/reset till it resets

mine automatically resets with an oil change.

My last change i went to Jiffy Lube and no one reset anything in my dash and when i left i checked the gauge and it was at 100%.

i guess you have to reset it manually, usually the dealership reset it after an oil change..
