Blind Spots?

Does anyone experience blind spots while backing up? Ive clipped a tree and a reflector at the bottom of the driveway so far. The back trunk lid and the spoiler seems to be so far up and the rear pillars seem to obstruct my view.

When I test drove a 2006 Civic EX coupe, I had an incredibly hard time adjusting to how thick the rear pillar is when making a lane change. I actually had to have my mom and the salesperson tell me there was no one by me before I made a lane change, because it was so big and I couldn't see anything.

I also (still) have issues parking properly. Im not used to a car with such a small front end, and it seems I never pull far enough up, but I'd rather be farther away from the curb/stopper than hitting and causing damage.

Also, the front pillars for the windshield, when driving on campus, cause me considerable issues because I absolutely cannot see pedestrians or bikers when they're within that range (and its a big range), so I have to be extra careful.

Backing up, for me, isn't so bad.

Trust me, you'll get very used to it in time, it's not going to continue being a problem.

yea, that's one thing that i've noticed since i've gotten my SI. when backing up the spoiler obstructs ur view and anything below or really close to ur bumper... is game over. that's why i usually try to give myself a lil more room to back out.

yep. in my old 5-speed 89 civic i could parallel that thing with ease on a slope w/o power steering. i can still parallel park with my new civic(not nearly as well) but i'm still getting used to the blind spots and calculating how much space i have till i hit. sucks but i'll get used to it in time.
