Can't shift into 3, 4, 5, or reverse, wtf?

Hello, I have a 06 civic lx, 5 speed manual. Wondering if anyone has experienced this yet. I leave my house this morning as usual. There are a bunch of lights on the way so I dont shift out of second until a few minitues into the drive. Then when I am about to shift into third, it wont go in. Then I try four, nope. Five, negative. I couldnt move the shifter anywhere past the right of where 3rd gear is, no matter how hard I try. I ended up being able to get it into third by pushing in really hard, but it didnt go in smooth like it usually does. As you can imagine, this might cause problems considering I now cant reverse out of a parking spot. Ill look pretty damn stupid pushing a 2006 car because i cant put the bitch into reverse. Anyways, I set an appointment at honda next week, but just wondering if anyone knows what this is and if it has happend to them?

Could there be anything blocking your linkage? Like an unsecure wire harness or dead animal? Strange question I know, but linkage is the first thing I thought of when I read that. I have an Si and when I had the first CAI installed there was a loose harness that got caught in the linkage and screwed stuff up.

have you chck under your hood, make sure nothing in the way on the shifter. It is 2 person job, one person have to be under hood looking at the shifter and the other would be in the car trying to shift.

There are 2 cables that shift the gears. One cable for 1-5 and another that controls the side-to-side movement of the shift. Its possible that the cable is damaged, loose or binding which is preventing the shifter from moving over far enough to reach the gears you can't get into.
