white valve, nut and piss

with the front bumper removed: right below the radiator, there is a white valve with a nut over it. i accidentally unscrewed this thinking that this was the coolant drain (was trying to drain some coolant to install an intake), and it immediately sprayed pressurized mist. what did i do? the mist smelled something like tootsie rolls. does this have something to do with the A/C because after i drove my car, the A/C refused to get cold.

I think you opened the Receiver Dryer on the refrigerent/ AC system.
Play dumb and take it to the dealer before your AC system becomes acidic from any moister or air that got in it.

Nah you got time don't panic just take it to the dealer and tell them your AC stopped working not as cold as it used to be. Next time you drain coolent there is a valve on the botom of the radiator it's calle a pet cock. Unscrew it alittle bit to drain some out. If you cain't find it then go to your local auto parts place like Pepboys or advanced auto parts and get 3 0r 4 feet of vaccume hose. Take off radiator cap (engine cold not hot) stick the hose into radiator suck on the other end of the hose while doing this bring hose down below radiator opening and insert end into a container once coolent starts to come out.

Its not going to go acidic on you.

The only time that happens is when moisture mixes with freon and is compressed. If it sprayed freon or oil at you then it didn't suck anything in.
