windshield damage

After work got into my 06 civic sedan and noticed I had a round cracked demple on the driver side windshield, looked like a bullet was shot into the windshield. The top glass is cracked but the inside glass is ok. How should I resolve this issue. Take it in to service or find a good glass repair service station. Anyone knows how much these 06 sedan windshields cost to repair and or replace. Need help!

something to note

dealerships don't fix glass nor tires

so i'd call safelite they come to you and fix the windshield!

If the inside is fine and the top is messed up, wouldn't that mean that a bullet was shot OUT of your windshield, not into it?

Yeah, I am pretty sure that's right. When the bullet hits the window, it crushes, thus making the "exit wound" larger.

there should be an outfit in your area that specializes in "painless dent removal" and glass and sometimes interior repair. in the philly area the company I'm thinking of is called Carisma...I don't know if they go up as far as NY....but they come to my dad's shop from time to time and I would highly recommend them...

As far as the cost of the windshield, I'm sure it's astronomical, I had to replace one in my EP3 when I had it, and it was about $390, and that was just cost!

Be prepared for sticker shock on the windshield, I was. I called around to all of the "major" windshield replacement companies, and the prices ranged from $700-$900 in my area. I ended up getting the windshield replaced at my local auto body shop when I had some hood damage (stuff fell off of a construction truck) repaired. The windshield was still pricey, I believe it was somewhere in the $600-$700 range.
