DX/LX/EX Automatic owners can you please test this for me?
Drive your car in first or second gear up to 4100-4500 rpm. Hold it in the 4400-4500 range and let me know if you hear a rattle from the Engine compartment / passenger side.
The dealer says that "all cars make this noise". It is a low vibration but once you pick it out, it's hard to miss. It happens 100% of the time for me. And it starts around 4200 gets louder at 4500. Thanks! |

3 out of 4 people on this post have this issue. I would like to at least know what is causing the noise. I don't know if it is something to worry about. I personally don't like the sound. |

I don't hear anything either.
You have to understand that there are a lot of issues that Honda has not figured out how to fix let alone the dealer. And I believe that they are trained to call any problem that they have no clue how to fix, NORMAL. I have ran into a few of those "NORMAL" problems myself. Just make sure you go to atleast two diferrent dealerships and demand some kind of explanations in writing. That would be your Ace in the whole if something goes wrong with your car out of waranty. Just because you hear a noise does not mean that there is a problem. I have been repairing all types of cars, trucks Mowers Bikes Toys for a very long time and some of the complaints I hear from customers just make me want to Roll on the floor laughing. But I guess if you don't ask then you will never know. Go to the dealer and if they say it's Normal than make sure you get a copy of the repair order. make sure your concern is properly worded on the Repair order. This way if a real problem should come of this noise then you have proof that you took it to the dealer and they couldn't or wouldn't find it. At that time should you be out of warranty you can talk to Honda's customer service and you may be eligable for a goodwill repair. I hope this helps some. Best of luck with your Issue. I know there are some real LOSERS for Techs ( Parts Changers at best) out there so don't get discouraged by your first visit. |

Just got back from the service dept. Problem solved no more 'growl' or 'rattle'. The mechanic traced the noise to the fuel line that was touching the brake lines under the cowl and it was creating a vibrating noise. He moved the fuel line away from the brake lines and it's now fixed!!!
Ask the dealership if this is causing the noise. It's under warranty. I didn't pay for anything. The mechanic said it's not a normal noise when he first heard it. I hope this helps.
