smudges

Hey. I have an 07 civic lx sedan, and I’m having issues cleaning the tachometer and speedometer area. It seems like every product I try leaves insane smudges. I’ve never had this problem before with previous cars, and I’m thinking that maybe those cool blue lights are making the smudges so prevalent? I don’t know……is it made out of some kind of new plastic? Do you guys get crazy smudges too? I’m afraid that if I take it to a car wash they may just make it even smudgier. Any suggestions on products? Haha I’m becoming so anal and obsessive with this car.

It's not just the interior plastics.

You could put a blank there, and use the following sentence:

On the 2006-2007 Honda Civics, if you so much as look, touch, or breath the wrong way, you will scratch/damage/wear the ______.

Choose from the following:
-paint
-carpeting
-seats
-glass
-plastic interior trim.

I agree. This is an excellent product, good for all interior plastics since it is not greasy at all.

If quick detailer doesn't work, try a plastic polish. YOu have to use a polish once in a while anyway since these plastics will scratch over time.

The towel you are using to "clean" it will have a big effect. If you use a crappy towel on it (or any part of the car for that matter), it is going to scratch it/smear it and leave you more disappointed than you were before. Go to Pep-Boys, or an equivalent autoparts store and buy a $4 Mcguire's Microfiber towel to clean it with. Good luck!

I tried the Meguires with the microfiber towel and it was definitely the way to go. Thanks guys! :)

But yeah, it really is INSANE how delicate the interior plastics are!
