VIN under the grill cover

if anyone is planning on taking the bumper off, COULD you take a picture of the vin sticker...it doesn't have to show the vin but i want to see the general area around/on the vin sticker. Mine had grease like substance on em and over 20k miles it accumulated lot of dust.

Rippar's has it but his is only 2400miles young...little grease but no accumulation just yet I would like to see OTHER civics that may possibly have this issue

Why are you worried about grease on the VIN? These VIN stickers have been on Hondas for years. I have yet to see grease or any other automobile fluids(other than brake fluid) make it rub off or distort it. Why not ask the dealer what they have seen?

Mine was greasy as heck....for no apparent reason. The sticker was totally covered in greasy black dirt, but the rest of the area under there is clean

Why would ANY mechanic rub off the VIN sticker on your bumper? Unless you had foglights installed there isnt any other reason for them to have the bumper off.

Im gonna be lmao when you post on here, "Help, dealership wont work on my car and it wont start". Being a jackass at the dealer is gonna get you nowhere. Remember they are REAL mechanics and dont just act like one on the web.

My questions are the same ones that the Service Manager will be asking you. Did you ever think that maybe I'm trying to save you from being the laughing stock of your dealer? Either way, good luck getting them to help you out with anything related to your car after this saga with a rubbed off greasy VIN sticker.

Oncesir, of the 21 posts you have on this site, 20 of them are all in threads that CivicWithNav started. I know he can be a pain in the butt. We all know this, but the fact is, it really seems that the entire reason you are here is to harrass. I'm sure you have knowledge to share and I recommend that you start now.

Whatever problem you have with him, I take it up via PM and dispense with the bull. Personally, I'm growing irritated with you as well.

I'm not here to harass anyone. Sometimes being a friend to someone means letting them know when they are being totally ridiculous about something. None of my posts were ever disrespectful despite the rude comments that were directed toward me. If anyone needs to learn respect its definitely not me.

I'm not gonna argue you there. But after going through a few threads it does appear as if you are sort of targeting him. You have not been disrespectful or rude and I do commend and thank you for that. As far as letting someone know that they are being ridiculous I understand. Believe me, CivicWithNav hears it from me on a regular basis. I am one of those friends who tells you like I see it. It's just that when I see a pattern as your posts have, it seems kind of fishy.

Now that I understand why you've presented that pattern, I ask that you please enjoy other threads as well. :)

CivicWIthNav, don't even think you've got angel wings buddy. I better not see a single neener neener post.

Jin, you da mang! You and I had problems before but that was because you posted a video street racing on a residential street, using one hand to then turn off your camera.

Personally you're a cool dude, we're ok now right? lol

hah i don't hold grudges against people... just few on the board...they know who they are.

dawn thank you for posting that picture and proving that every SI has grease on the VIN sticker. hence in a long run, it will accumulate dust/dirt and make it unable to read. techs did rub it off to read the vin and in process removed parts of it (two little windows as outlined in the pic)
