Screeching noise from front driver side wheel area.

The noise came out of nowhere. I didn't run into potholes or hit anything. It was driving fine on the way to my destination. However, once I put my car in reverse to back out of my parking spot the screeching noise began and continued when I put into drive. Nothing visible looked out of place when I looked under the hood and under the car. I only have like 20k on the car. The noise is like metal on metal. Someone help me...my car is sick. :[

You probably just have a rock caught in between what's supposed to keep debris off your shafts and the shaft itself. That is if the noise happens and/increases as you drive. Get under it an give it a couple fingers.

happened to me today, Going to get under my car tonight to poke around and find out what the dealo is. I'll report my findings.

Bit of background as to my issue: Drove out of my neighborhood, saw some junk on the road from everyone spring cleaning garbage. manuvered the car to avoid it, right after i pass the point on the road where the garbage was I get a disgusting screeching sound comming from my passanger tire well.

I guess I didn't avoid it at all, going to see if i can spot where the debris got lodged.

Checked the problem out, my dustshield was rubbing against the rotor. Pushed it out and respaced the shield.

Make sure you tighten the lugs to spec, i think my wheel pushed the shield into the rotor somehow (80 ftlbs).

No more screeching
