HFP suspension question..
Pardon me if this has been answered (probably) somewhere in the annals of these forums, but does Honda make an HFP, still covered under factory warranty suspension that drops an Si Coupe by more than an inch?
If yes, hurray! If no, how does lowering affect a warranty (entended) and what suspension kit would any of you get if you were looking for maximum performance, while being adjustable? This is a daily driver, but I'm weary of the HFP suspension that drops a coupe less than an inch. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

its covered only if the HOnda dealer installs it for you and you either have to purchase it from them or you have to bring the package with the syspension parts and the package needs to be closed, if its open they wont warantee it

HFP suspension isn't worth it IMO just get aftermarket Full Coilovers . if you have a problem just put the stock suspension back on. But if you can't do that then just wait till warranty is over. Or another invest in Mugen suspension and it will still be covered under warranty.

Re: HFP suspension question..
I got the HFP on my 2010 Fa5 and I love it. It dropped it just over an inch - more in the rear than in the front. I have about 1.25 finger gap between my rear tire and wheel well now with my stock 17's. This is my daily driver, I do not regret getting the kit. Don't forget to get a four wheel alignment a few weeks after the kit is installed and fully settled.

If you have dealer install after delivery of vehicle, you get 1yr/12K mile parts and labor warranty. If you install it you have 1yr/12K mile parts warranty only. Oh, much cheaper to get the HFP suspension from here, they are running a deal on them it seems and they are going fast. Thank you. I believe I'll go with the HFP then. Gotta retain some comfort. And at $450, that's not too bad. Anyone had it installed by a dealer? How much was the bill? Alignment included? etc..

Score. Just bought the HFP kit for $450 from CCH.com, best price I could find. Picked up the fog light kit too, as mine is missing them. Now the only question will be installation. Fog lights I can do, but the suspension might go better up on a lift instead of in my garage on jack stands. Anyone know prices for installation by a Honda tech? I like the idea of the labor being warrantied.
spanks. |

Not sure what the cost would be getting it done at the shop. I did mine in the driveway at a friends house. With me being an ex-mechanic in the military and he being a master parts fabricator/welder for the past 30 years we hadnt a problem putting it up on jackstands doing it in the drive way. It took about 5 hours to do the suspension and install a catback exhaust.

the idiot as customer relations at acura was like, YOU CANT SWAP PARTS BECAUSE IF ITS NOT BRANDED AS ACURA THAN IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY...i was like....my whole acura is branded HONDA because HONDA manufactures every single part in my car...so why would the HFP suspension kit void a warranty...hes like well if it isnt offered by acura than it obviously wasnt designed for it.
OMG. son of a beetch. i really want the HFP suspension but i just bought a damn extended warranty... Last edited by 08civlx; 03-15-2010 at 08:33 PM. |
