Exclamation New throttle problem?

Is this what everyone is talking about? 2007 Si

Lets say I'm going 40km/h in any given gear. When approaching a stop light, clutch in, neutral, I give it gas to rev-match to a proper gear, and it's like I can't give it any gas at all. I even floor it for a split second to see what it's doing. Nothing. Then at a complete stop is when I could give it gas and it responds normally.

Get what I mean?

This is frustrating. It only happens when the car is mobile. I find this dangerous as well, if I'm moving in an intersection and there was an emergency to get the F&#$ outta the way "now", my car would bog down because the accelerator won't work properly.

Sounds like a neutral rev protector for an automatic to me, only in a 6 speed.

'07 Si built September 29th, no symptoms as you described. I actually have an rpm hang when letting off the gas to shift. I throttle stays open for a split second after removing my foot.
You may wanna see a tech on that one. Sounds bad enough to get it looked at ASAP.

Looks like a sticky throttle body plate.

Due from SRI/CAI, stuff on the filter that makes it sticky.

May want to buy some throttle body cleaner, it might fix your problem.

Since the 06+ SI throttle body are not drive by wire, the mechanical throttle body is trying to open up but cant (its trying to match up the kPa of your gas pedaling but it cant because it wont open)

^ I don't think its that because once I'm at a COMPLETE stop, it can rev freely. It seriously feels like an over-rev protection BS.

I have the rev-hang crap too.

The 06+ is absolutely drive by wire throttle

Edit.........
06+ Civic that is. all RSX's are cable throttle.

Just go to the dealer! I don't mean to be rude, but wouldn't that be the easiest thing to do?

^^^Gotcha man...Just irritates the sheisse out of me when people continually ask about this or that and don't just go to the dealer...I understand your point though...I would want to know the cause too...

I have this problem as well. Despite how annoying it is, I haven't made a trip to my dealer yet lol. Let us know what your dealer says or if you get it fixed.

Edit: I have the rev-hang fix.

Ya this ish is getting REAL annoying. A Honda Rep gave me the DIRECT number for Customer Service for Honda Canada. I'm going to give them a call first before I look like a fool down @ Honda. I can just imagine them saying "whats a rev hang... or... its doing what? "

Yea, I got my car on tuesday and I am having the same problem as you. It is a little annoying. It only does it for me in first gear, and it seems to be intermittent at that. I would like to know what they tell you. Let us know as soon as you hear from them.

Well, this may sound harsh, but I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I've noticed it happens MOST when coasting in neutral, and throttle response comes back when at a complete stop.

I also see a little bit of rev hang on mine...Didn't notice it at first, but when I was driving tonight, I noticed it. I thought people were saying that the rev hang problem was solved on the Si 2007, but it doesn't appear so...Maybe a trip to Honda for a reflash will solve both of the problems??

I went to the service department today at a dealership near my work and the techs I talked to said they had never heard of the problem...
I will go by another dealership tomorrow and see if they have seen the issue before. Keep me updated on what you find out when you get in touch with someone Darryl.

I'm going in tomorrow. Today I had to get flu shot, finger evaluated for WCB (injury), lots of crap, too busy. I'll see what they say tomorrow.
