Angry My 06 Si has the same problem.

Thanks to the 8th Civic community, I was going to blame my new K&N drop-in air filter because the problem started some time after the filter was put in. (I thought the oil on the filter may dirty the sensor or something)

For me, the symptom occurs when all the conditions (listed below) are met.

The engine is in well within the operational temperature.
The car is in motion at slow speed.
The gear is in neutral.
RPM range between 1100 – 1300. <<< anyone else notice this?
(Hope this verifies that we have the same problem)

I began to notice the problem 5600+ miles later. Meanwhile, I had the ECU update from a dealership (not the Hodata refresh) at 4900 miles and K&N drop-in filter put in at 5600 miles but nothing else. (oh, and the oil-changes)

Honda really needs to perfect their DBW engineering soon because this DBW never has been the “greater throttle response” instead, one big “Annoying response” for me.

This is an ongoing issue...Haven't been able to find a stealership that won't snub their nose at me yet...Very angering! I haven't found anything out yet, but the minute I do, I promise I will post my findings...

Edit:
I think this is more of a recall for a bad gas pedal installation which causes delay on throtle response and if come loose then throttle becomes stuck thus having no acceleration which ccould cause an accident
must be something similar tot his bulletin

The above accelerator pedal recall doesnt effect any 07 Si models and was limited to early production 06 models. In regards to articsilber323 who thinks there is an update on his 07, there is NO update. Honda publishes service bulletins with the VIN on this document to allow the dealer to know when the problem was resolved on the assembly line. If you bring a service bulletin into a dealer and your VIN isnt covered dont expect the dealer to fix anything. A vin break indicates that the complaint was resolved before you even owned the car. Its no wonder you have had dealership issues. You cant understand a simple serv bulletin and you wonder why they wont "listen" to you.

if you want to come over here and drive my car

the problem is NOT normal

the throttle is completely dead

you have to hold the pedal about 1/2 way down for 1-2 seconds for the ecu to open the throttle

now tell me this is normal?

if you joined here to bash on everyones responses i suggest they you leave ASAP!

I explained the service bulletin to you. I never said anything about you or your cars problems. The dealer cant just pull an ecu reflash out of the air and use it on your car. If there isnt an update, THERE IS NOTHING THE DEALER CAN DO!! You will have to wait until Honda provides us with the required fix, ECU reflash or otherwise. Dont start spouting off about how horrible the dealer is when there isnt anything that they can do.

Yea, it strikes me as more of a "software" bug than anything. I suspect it will require a reflash when Honda finally acknowledges that it is a problem. I do find it strange however that not more people have experienced it. Or maybe many people just think it is normal and have not put more thought into it. Anyways, there's not much more I can do until Honda finally decides it a problem. I've been to a few dealerships, and none of them has ever heard of it...And they don't really seem to care about it either...Very frustrating

same problem here and it drives me insane. i only have one solution to it that has been working okay for me so far. i just come to a complete stop, wait a second, and then start off normally. it sucks that i have to do all that but oh well.

I want to revive this. I'll have someone from AHM to look at this thread. It's happening to me and no one didn't know what I was talking about until I let my buddy drive my car today. You can hear him bleeping on the throttle with his foot but no response! Ditto on the dangerous part. VERY dangerous!

Well, now that it's almost summer, I've become used to it although it has caused me to almost stall in some situations.

I still believe it needs to be addressed. Maybe the reason other people aren't experiencing is because they drive their car normal. I like to blip the throttle while downshifting, and thankfully the revs match easily.

Si civic... I like to blip too...

And this delay really puts a damper on our fun. Ihave to come to a COMPLETE stop to get the sounds I want.

At least we get to sound cool when we start on a little incline... u know what I mean.

Im probably going to be working at honda this summer and I am good friends with the owner. So , I will try to get to the bottom of this so we can blip-the-hell-out-of-it at any speed/time.

At least we can still enjoy the sound of perfectly mathched downshifts.
