I wonder if its just HOnda cars that have these gayass issues?
i dont mean to sound like i dink, but it seems our hondas are
plagued by DBW, Rev Hang, and issues such as Si_civic is having?

Honda needs to get their shit in gear imho!

mine does the same thing. it kinda sucks it happens when i'm at a light and then i give it a little gas and come off of the clutch, just to get rolling, then press the clutch again and try to rev and it doesn't rev up it just cruises in neutral. i know it's the DBW b/c in any other car w/o DBW u can do the same thing and the engine will rev when u press the gas.

See, now that is seriously -32 with the windchill, I just go to work, go home, and stay inside. The roads are major slippery so I don't notice the issues anymore lol. It will go in, trust me on this. I have four issues in total:

1) rev hang
2) throttle delay @ idle
3) spring-sound rattle behind CD player
4) engine won't rev past 10,000rpm

jk #4

Darryl

Yea, I think I would have the same routine if it was -32 outside. Don't blame you one bit there...If you DID have a problem with #4, you wouldn't see problems #1 and #2 because you engine would fly through your hood...

Really...How about a little more information on that? I went to a dealership a couple weeks ago (first week I got my car actually) and the techs there said they had never heard of the problem...

Umm, I don't think you all should be confusing the "rev-hang" issue with this problem here. This seems to be a whole different problem altogether. I have the rev-hang problem past 3500RPM and also have slightly delayed throttle response (most likely due to the DBW engineering) but have yet to encounter the problem you all are having where the car does not rev at all when in neutral.

Can someone elaborate a bit more on the cause of the problem? What exactly do you do to cause the symptoms to occur. When I first got the car, I would double-clutch on downshifts just to learn how to do so and have now resorted to just normal downshifts. I never experienced the problem that you are having. However, I have noticed sometimes that while coasting in neutral and let the RPMs drop to the normal idle (preparation for a 3rd gear turn), when I shift into third gear, give it gas and let the clutch out, there are times when I seem to completely miss rev-matching and make the car jerk. Now, I attributed this to driver error since I'm still fairly new to driving stick; however, I have done these types of maneuvers before and have done some nearly flawlessly. Perhaps it could be that the engine is not revving at all when I give it gas? I'll still stick to driver error being the cause but I'll go check it out later and see if my revs truly aren't going up.

^ ok. Sweet example: First gear, in the snow going about 5 km/h. I blip the throttle like 10 times. Nothing. In other cars you would hear the intake "whooshing", but in my Si, nothing, no revs. This is dangerous IMO.

My car has no problem rev-matching when downshifting, this seems to only occur at idle and/or slow speeds; speeds when making turns I have no throttle input.

I was unsure of when it was happening at first, but now I find it quite easy to replicate (not cool). When I pull into a parking lot and slow down for a speed bump, I'll be going 3-10 MPH. Now right before and/or after the speed bump when the clutch is still in, I can "blip" the throttle to try and rev match, but nothing happens; no throttle response at all. I've gone so far as to push the throttle to the floor really quick and I still get nothing. It's crazy...

In fact, I'm gonna go to the dealer right now and see what they say...argggg...

ARGGGGGG...Dealership #2 has never heard of said problem!!! This is starting to piss me off. They blew me off there like I didn't know what I was talking about. I'll try another one tomorrow, but I'm starting to get a little short on patience...
