Any A/C damage due to brief use?

After reading all the threads I can find re: disabling the auto A/C setting when in defrost mode, I have gone ahead and done the mod as described in this thread:
Why is my A/C always on?

Now having done this, when I select either of the defrost settings the A/C kicks on and the green A/C light comes on as well. Most of the time I don't want the A/C on at all so I turn it off a few seconds after selecting the defrost mode. Of course, as soon as I push the defrost button I can hear the the A/C kick on.

Am I doing harm to the A/C unit by turning it off right away (1-2 seconds after it kicks on)?

In case it matters, my car is an 07 EX sedan.
