Doors auto-lock when decelerating through 9 MPH

I started noticing that my doors have started locking as I decelerate through 9 MPH once in a while. It's happened about 4 times over the past few days that I can remember. I have my doors set to auto-lock when I accelerate above 9 MPH after the car has been started and to not unlock when I shut the car off. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!

Can you duplicate this again? If so can you provide more information, that is very strange.

We'll see if it happens today. It's not enough of an issue that I'm specifically going to go out and pass through 9 MPH over and over trying to get it to do it but not that it has my attention I will probably be able to take note of what else is going on.

I thought that was a beneficial feature of the auto-lock. I've always noticed this.

I think you're missing something. The doors lock AGAIN as I DECELERATE through 9 MPH. This is not a normal feature. It is normal for the doors to lock when you ACCELERATE through 9 MPH but once they have locked they never do anything until I unlock them myself (that's one of the three settings).

Noticed this happening to mine today... it went haywire this morning, doing it like 7-9 times.

Hopefully it was a once and done occurrence. Will note later if it happens again. Would something like this be covered under warranty?

this is off topic ... but is there any way to have both doors unlock when you turn the car off, and not just the driver side.

Mine hasn't gone haywire (thankfully) and actually hasn't done it since I posted though I really haven't driven it much. Anything like that should be covered by warranty.

I'm pretty sure that mine unlocks all of the doors automatically but I'd have to switch it back to verify (FA5 vs. FG2). Try changing it to another setting and then switch it back and see if it still works the same way.

If your car is '07+, yes. Read the manual.

I took notice that mine does it when I come to a stop, then accelerate to 9mph.

If it doesn’t stop by the end of the week, I will be calling the dealership. I have a 2007 SI with 45k, would it still be covered?

This is just a huge pain in the a$$, something like this should not be malfunctioning on a 2.5 year old car.

You are technically past the bumper-to-bumper warranty but I would bet if you spent some time at the dealership being cool-headed and ending up speaking with the service manager, Honda might take care of this for you. If not and if you don't want to troubleshoot it I'd just disable the auto-lock feature and do it the old-fashioned way, well, not the OLD fashioned way by pressing each lock, but just blip the lock switch yourself.
