Of course, 2006's get the attention, like the reflash, 2007's DO NOT.

That was from 05. It's a year old.

can some one please tell me how a different mtf is going to solve the gear problem? i dont understand if it is the fluid that causes the problem why wouldnt the rest of the gears be effected? i have the same problem as the rest of you but i am reluctant to bring it to the dealer because they have never solved any problem i have had with the car...they always just tell me that that cant hear/find anything wrong and then proceed to tell me about all the miles they racked up on the car. anyway...before i have to resort to the dealer, i will spend the money and change the fluid myself but i dont see how it helps....

OK, Since I changed my MTF with GM Synchromesh friction modified It shifts like SILK!!! No Grinds whatsoever and it goes in every gear like Margarine!! The Fluid doesn't feel as thick as the factory fluid and it is much easier and smoother to shift. It glides into every gear like if it has ice skates skating on ice!! I recommend GM Synchromesh FM to everyone that hasn't changed their MTF yet. It gets rid of the 3rd gear grinding issue. The first morning when I drove my car with the new MTF there was a tiny bit of notchiness still but throughout the day it felt like it was smothing out, by night time driving to my cousins house third gear felt like every other gear. No problems, No grinds whatsoever!!! Highly Recommended!!! Very easy to change. No more stress

if you overfill your MTF it will put more load on the transmission gears and there is a posibillity that the other gears will also run even if they dont need too... and if you put not engough fluid, it will cause heat and more friction, then youll have problem in shifting, grinding more gears and maybe ended up on a broken syncro.

I agree. After research on the alternatives, I decided to change the factory fill with old MTF. Shifting was a little smoother. Then when the new MTF came out I changed it again and shifting is smooth as silk. Everyone should at least consider trying the new Honda MTF before trying an alternative.

I had my trans fluid changed yesterday under warranty. They were unable to reproduce the problem, I think they shifted too quickly as it mainly does it when I am easy on it. They said they put the new fluid in it. 3rd is still not as smooth as the others but everything is alot smoother now. They said I need to let it work itself in for 2 weeks then give them a call.

Does this only happen to the SIs? I have an LX coupe and sometimes in third it doesnt go in and pops out but its only grinded once and first gear is hard to get into even when im stopped i have to release the clutch then press the clutch in again to shift in first.

Yeah, that gave me that same crap too. That's why next time I bring it in, I'm just gonna get them to change my MTF. I only have about 800kms on my car...
