HELP battery...

okay so i was installing my ebay fogs yesterday and i had them working however it drained my battery and now when i go to start my car it will not start. I charged my car battery off of a jump for at least 15 minutes and when i went to drive it it wouldnt let me go past 3 rpm and there was a check engine light on and vsa lights..Also everything inside was flashing even after I charged it....do I need anew battery or is something else wrong???

thanks,
please get back to me asap if you have any input.

-Adam

you mesed u your fog light install.

1. it takes a LONG tiem to drain a battery from jsut fog lights. how long did you leave them on?
2. a dead battery/recharged battery should not cause you to go into limp mode (not revving past 3k)
3. after a battery is recharged, you shoudlnt get any lights or anything. should be jsut like before it went dead.
4. go to autozone and get the CEL code pulled. dont jsut reset the negative terminal on the battery like most people will tell you to.

Did you disconnect anything? Where did you wire your fogs to, any messing around with the fuse box?

Will the car start again, or does it always need to be jumped?

I've jumped modern cars before and had the dash boards flip out a couple of cars till the battery is disconnected, but never seen a car go into limp mode from a jump. I'd check all your wiring, or disconnect it all and have the codes read if it's still acting up.

you installed it wrong you are in limp mode. I assume you hooked up the wires to a bad spot that is interfering with your ecu.

yes it went into limp mode and is still there I cannot start it unless i get it jumped i have a code reader and it is showing a maf low circut and also an o2 sensor....i hooked it up where the diy says...after that i took it out and had someone I know who knows what they are doing hook them up....then they would turn on and now they won't....the battery pretty much will not hold a charage at least I don't think...I tried the battery out of my friends rsx-s and it worked fine but I'm not sure because the vsa light and the ! is on also the CEL.....I don't know if it is an easy fix or if i should get towed to honda....which I hate doing because I like to figure out the problem myself.

maybe reversed wires adn you have a short to ground?

remove your foglight wiring adn see if you still have the problem. that will be a good start.

towed to honda = rediculous charge. they are goign to bend you over with no lube for this.

Another reason why doing anything electrical on your car requires you to disconnect the battery.
