Brake noise

Hey everyone. I am just looking for a few suggestions on what the problem may be and i am hoping someone could help me out.

Recently my brakes have been making a grinding noise while i brake. It has a squealing sound at higher speeds, but more of a grinding sound when the car slows down closer to stop. What's odd is when the brakes are wet, the noise goes away for about 15-20mins of driving. I did have the brakes checked and they seem to be fine. I was told it could be dirt/sand in the brakes (which is common in winter) but none of my other buddies have ever had this problem.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

this happeend on my 71 beetle, just go buy some brake cleaner, take off ur wheels and go to town on that bissh
