clutch engaging later than usual

lately the clutch on my si has been engaging farther up. sometimes when im starting in first or going into reverse it also makes a squeaking sound. I drove my friends si and his clutch grabs a lot smoother and quicker than mine. Is my clutch going bad or could it be the master cylinder?

sounds like a different problem...you said yours is engaging closer to the floor. isnt that cause you have an aftermarket clutch. theyre supposed to grab a lot quicker and closer down...

The squeak is normal. Did it rain recently?

no no im not talking about the clutch pedal squeeking its coming from the engine bay or something when the clutch is engaging...not the peddle itself

Is it like a wet, metal on metal noise?
