I just noticed that I am getting the pop also when I brake hard. If I slam on the brakes, I am rewarded with a BANG POP.

What the hell could be causing this. My bolts are tight as can be and this started immediately after I installed my underbrace. I first though that it was the rubber support of the exhaust hanger banging the brace because I first noticed this BANG POP when I launched and assumed that it was motor mount flex that was causing the two to touch. Now I am completely shocked to find out that it is popping hard-core when I slam on the brakes.

Slam on the brakes at about 35 mph POP BANG---then drop it in second and hammer it---POP BANG.

What would cause such a loud pop when you slammed on your breaks?

Thanks

something wasnt installed right. I have the tanabe on my car and I've never hard any banging or popping. looking under the car while you have someone put weight on it and see if you have any clearance issues.

i have the same problem from the front right. I recently posted my problem and no one replied.
Im not sure what it is. Its almost constant, its sounds like a rusty shock. Ive narrowed it down to the front right. when i get out of the car and pushed on the front left(no noise) then i walk around the the other side and pushed down right above the shock and squeek squeek(poping sound) almost sounds like my front end is gonna fall off when im driving

No kidding. I was driving down wilshire this morning and it popped consecutively 2 times in a row but always when load is transfered to the rear violently (say hard acceleration). Like I said, I've removed the brace, but am still getting the same noise which rules out the brace. I'll check my suspension tonight and hopefully that was it. It's scary driving your car with it making popping noises that sound as if your motor is going to give and just fall to the ground.

mine started after the Tanabe install, mine sounds like a haamer hiting the firewall. The header or exhaust isn't hitting anything.

I don't think this has anything to do with aftermarket installs. My car is bone stock and I get the popping sound when I go over speed bumps and take hard turns. I get the feeling there's gonna be a recall on some suspension part...

Did any of you torque the bolts to spec? Honestly now. I'm thinking it might be an issue concerning the torque specs of the bolts.

Out of curiosity, how many of you are lowered?

I'm dropped on Tein S-Tech springs and have the same EXACT noise and I know another person or two do as well. I at one point had the Tanabe brace on my car but noticed this trouble once I lowered the car.

Sounds like we're all in the same boat.

Also, I am **hopefully** going to have the car in the air this weekend taking a look at the front suspension. Should a person get back with me I am hoping to purchase another stock suspension setup and have it arrive here for me to be able to use it this weekend to compare the two to see if anything is different. I think it's either going to be in the strut bearing or in the front sway-bar (even though it's stock and I haven't touched it). I know others have reported this in the past and the resolutions have been everything from "it went away" to this strut bearing (or top of the strut tower assembly) being the culprit.

On my car this trouble happens when I'm hard on the brakes, shifting hard, getting wheelhop, or every once in a while turning to the right or left. The noise always comes from the front right of the car.

Should all go according to plan hopefully I will have something to say about it come Sunday!

Honestly mine doesn't make any sort of popping noise unless I'm driving the car pretty hard. During normal driving it's perfect. I just want it to be pop and trouble free even when I'm at the limits in the car.

Same here. I havent done anything to mine except change the oil and rotate the tires.

Mine pops and creaks on forward-rear direction changes. I've not noticed it on side-to-side. I dropp off a car pool buddy, and when i put in in reverse, and start out of his driveway, it pops almost every time.

I've been under it with a torque wrench, and have found nothing. I asked Honda about it last oil change and they said they cant reproduce it.

-sigh-
