Holy sh*t, I don't know what's going on in that sentance. But if you mis shifted and brought the revs to 9k, if your ok now than I'd say your ok (BUT don't do it again). I don't think 9k is enough to ruin your motor instantly, by what I've seen people do for short periods. Mistakes do happpen, but be careful..... |

9000k eh? You should do the following, check the gap of the spark plugs, make sure they are within spec. After that, do a compression test to see if you didnt mess up any valves. And last, a leak down test is perferred to make sure you are not losing compression through your valves or pistons.
Other thing i would do is check the valve lash but thats totally up to you though. The car may run fine, hell, i mis-shift once and i thought it was fine but nonetheless, at the end, my motor finally gave up. if all checks out, you should be fine. |

That reminds me of my last car which cut spark at 4K when in neutral, good idea! |

That only applies if you are accelerating. Your owners manual book clearly states, If you downshift in a gear that will carry you beyond 8000 rpm the rev limiter will not prevent our engine from going past the 8500rpm mark. Dont get me wrong the rev limiter will cut fuel and spark to your engine but your speed is already where it is at, and if you put it in a gear that is not capable of handling that speed it will go past 8500. Got to be careful brah, it happened to me but luckily I was able to put my foot back on the clutch quickly. However I reached the 9000's. |
