Maybe a stupid question, maybe not

so I just found out that my lx coupe will be sitting in an airport parking garage over christmas break. Yep, for three weeks I'll be three states away from my baby. Not sure if I'll be to handle it, to tell you the truth. Not too concerned about it being stolen, I mean it has those chips in the keys right? I think there's a least a fence around the garage also, heh. The only real thing I'm worried about is the stuff under the hood crapping out over the three weeks, like my brother didn't use his old saturn for a while and all kinds of things went wrong with it. So I can sleep tonight, I just want to know if anything could really be ****** up over the three weeks. If I have to do something under the hood to keep everything fine, keep in mind that I'll be in a parking garage when I do it so it won't really be able to get under it. And that I don't know much of anything about what's under my hood except where the windsheld washer fluid goes and where the dipstick is, heh.

you shouldnt have a problem, its a honda. I left my old accord in an airport parking lot for an extended time and nothing went wrong.

Don't leave anything visible in the car. Even something cheap like a shirt, pack of cigs, or paperwork etc..

car should be ok for just 3 weeks without being driven

and yeah having nothing of use visible is the best way to avoid car theft
most wont bother if they don't KNOW something is in the car

Literally. Leave NOTHING IN YOUR INTERIOR.

My friend's car was broken into for 10 cents sitting in her coin holder.

I've got a few CDs and some loose change out, never really thought about it but now I'm gonna shove all of it into either the glove box or the little deal under the center armrest, lol. Also have one of those ice scraper/brush things lying on my backseat, shove that into the trunk probly. I'll probly end up taking my extra set of keys and a few other things with me, they supposedly go through our dorms looking for pot/booze over break and tbh I was missing a few Road and Tracks last year when I got back, so yeah I'm taking what I can with me,lol.

I was hoping the car would hold up alright, now all I have to worry about is getting a good spot. Like preferably not on the roof, I mean I don't want to have to dig my car out of 3 feet of snow when I get back, heh.

If your worried just disconnect the battery cable...that way the battery won't drain...which is unlikey anyway

Wow, I thought I would be worried about mine. I'm going on a cruise in December and we are deciding on whether to leave my car at the port or not. We'll be gone for five days.

There shouldn't be a problem with leaving it for 3 weeks, but to be safe you might want to have a set of jumper cables in the trunk just in case. The battery would be my only concern.

Yeah I have that in my wallet

Disconnecting the battery sounds like something I could do, even if it wouldn't do anything but keep me from worrying it'd probably still be worth the 5 minutes it would take.

The battery won't go dead just by leaving it sitting for a few weeks.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but if anyone wanted to know I just got back and the car started up fine after the three weeks. But, the radio/cd player wouldn't start at first. So I'm thinking the battery was close to dead and that it wouldn't have lasted for much longer. After about an hour on the road it came on fine though.
