Clutch not disengaging??

Alright so... I've always been paranoid that my clutch never fully disengages when I put the pedal all the way to the floor. (This is an SI btw)

A lot of times going from 1-2 it felt like the gear just pops out of first as I try to pull it into 2nd. It wasn't always, but maybe 1 in every 5 times.

For the last week or so, my 1st and 2nd gears have been feeling extra notchy and I can't seem to avoid a little grind going into 1 or going from 1 into 2. The shifting into 2nd gear is REALLY pissing me off because I feel a slight grind almost every time.

Now also, last night I noticed a weird sound.

When I'm rolling from about 4-10mph and try to go from neutral to 1, if I put a little pressure like I'm going into 1, I hear this whining noise coming from the engine. There's a notch so unless I put more pressure it won't go past that point and I just hear the stupid whining noise. When I put it fully in (this is all while the clutch is fully depressed.......) the whining noise still persists. It's almost like the sound when you reverse, but a lot quieter... but still very noticeable.

It seriously feels like I'm shifting into 1st without the clutch fully depressed (when it fact it really is)....

I'm scheduling an appointment for this weekend... I hope this hasn't caused any significant damage to the transmission -_-

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

first shoudl not be used when rolling above 5+ mph unless you blip the throttle to rev match a bit. The whining sound you heard was your syncros trying to match the speed of the car.

i'll never put my gear into first when rolling above 4 mph unless i rev match teh gear a little. but if you're goign 10 mph, pop it into second.

i woudl definatly take it in for the fact that your second year is notchy and that you can hear it grind everytime, that is definately normal.
