Hood won't close

Sorry guys for the noob question but I can't seem to close my hood. I had a 97 civic where I dropped the hood and it would close. Is this the same method with the 2010. I've dropped it twice but it doesn't close and I don't want to mess up anything. I tried pushing it to close but doesn't work either. Am I doing it wrong?

I would check the latch mechanism first. Maybe pull on the hood release lever again, then try to close it.

are u dropping it too low to the car??? if i'm not mistaken i have dropped it like only 2-3 inches from the car and it didnt completly close all the way ... maybe this could be it and if not .... try that ^^^^ lol

According to my manual it says 30cm or 3in.

My hood isn't easy to close either, I'll just kind of slam it. Works fine.

yeah I was being too gentle when I was dropping the hood. Dropped it higher and it closed.
