wipers clicking?

I keep noticing more and more weird things with my civic.
last time i drove in the rain, the windshield wipers made a clicking sound in the mist & int mode, but not in the faster modes.
is this normal??

I think it it normal, my EX does it too, and the other cars in my house. I think it has to do with the timer for the intermitent wiper, the click signals when the wipers go on and off, thats why you cant hear it in the faster modes.

how many miles (hours of use) on those wiper blades? I wonder if changing blades will make a difference. I just changed mine. If your car sits in the sun, the blades are vulnerable to distortion. Something to consider.

My ex coupe does the same thing. I had them going this morning cause of the rain. It must be the way the timer is set up with the int setting. It clicks as the wipers are about to do a sweep of the windshield and clicks again I believe when the wipers come back down.

Actually it's the rubber piece shifting back and forth, leaning one way on the way down and flipping when going back up. If they made a harder rubber it might not do it, but also would make as good of contact. I have heard the click from a hyundia wiper that is the motor, but this is definatly not the case here.
