Rear Wheel Bearing

as im driving my 08 civic si sedan down the highway there is an odd vibrating sound coming from my right rear tire. im not sure if its a wheel bearing or what but as i go faster it gets quicker. i figure its a wheel bearing and i noticed there is a recall on them but mine doesnt fit the list.

When you turn left, does the noise get louder? Louder when the turn is harder? Does the noise go away when you turn right?

It's a REAR problem

We didn't get 4-wheel steer on our cars, sadly.

It is a wheel bearing if the loaded side gets louder. When you take a turn, does only front of the car lean or does the rear also lean?

True, sorry, I mis-interpreted your post and didn't realize you were specifying load.

To your point, HARD turning should change the sound. Nonetheless, it's tough to load up the rear anywhere near the degree of the front due to how little weight rests in the rear of the car. And obviously you can't just turn the wheel and listen for a change.

Staab - If the sound doesn't change when you switch gears and it increases with speed, it's most likely either a wheel bearing or tire noise. Try rotating your tires. If the noise doesn't move, then it's most likely a wheel bearing. Covered under warranty. Tire noise not covered under warranty

The mugen still rolls plenty. It's not that much different than the stock SI

Roll is not a bad thing and, in some cases, will benefit actual grip versus perceived grip. For example, in my 2008 legacy GT I put on a set of cobb sway bars. Pretty much eliminated all but a bit of roll, but I lost ultimate traction because of the way lateral forces are transfered onto the rubber.

Anyway, rotate tires and then decide if a dealer visit is needed.
