How often to adjust valves?

Not necessarily specific to Hondas, but at what interval should one expect to need a valve adjustment?

The reason I ask, my girlfriend's Nissan Versa is starting to have some valve noise, I think she's going to take it to a dealer tomorrow to have them look at it. The car only has ~25K miles on it, I wouldn't think it would be necessary to adjust the valves so soon on a 'modern' car.

Thanks

True. The old VW Beetle engines need their valves adjusted pretty frequently. I'm assuming newer cars don't need it that often though

I own an 07 Versa and it makes the same tap noise mainly when the car is cold. Once it gets warm, it goes away. It's a typical Nissan, I worked for Nissan for five years and it's all good!

You want valve noise, drive an 8-valve VW ABA or AEG engine. Noisy little f*ckers.

On the SI, the valve adjustment schedule is 105k miles.

Alot of cars get valve noise from deposits that cause them to "stick". Typically goes away with warmup.
