Help! Windshield Wiper problem

okay so i have a 2008 si that i bought a little used in march -7500 miles on it. ive noticed the driver side windshield wiper was a little slower and caused them to hit when going down. then it would stop halfway up the window and go back down, and now it doesn't work at all. i was going to bring it to the dealership nearby, but its raining so... i can't really drive my car at the moment. anyone know what it could be? and, this is the latest of many many problems ive had since owning this car

I have not looked, but is there a nut that holds the wiper arm assembly on? It could have come loose. Someone else can chime in I am sure.
