Header Versus Intake

I had a couple of questions that i was hoping some of you would be able to answer.

What would make my car sound nicer an intake or a header?
Should i get a CAI or a SRI if i live in miami?
do they sell a thing to stop the CAI from hydro locking your car?

Thanks for all the help.

Not dogging you here, but educating yourself by searching and browsing the forum is the best way of learning about your car.

Here's a starting point: Please Check Before Posting: Bolt-Ons And All-Motor Stickies

SRI alone makes your car sound like a beast. And thats before you add an exhaust. I don't believe there is much muffle in the header. If there is a sound difference after the header is installed it is caused by a couple things:

1) The metal used is different compound which will create a vibrant echo
2) There is a leak...and you messed up.

.........

There are super massive threads about CAIs and SRIs on this site, which means this thread will probably be locked soon. However, my two cents is that an after market CAI in pointless because our stock systems are essentially CAIs already. Want some my hp out of your stock system? Put a more through-flow filter in your filter box. K&N.

Otherwise, go SRI.

All of your questions are probably answered here, Intake & Spacer Discussion - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
