Factory Alarm going nuts

Hi,
I am having the weirdest problem with my factory alarm and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The factory alarm is randomly going off for about the last three weeks. There have been times where it will go off in the middle of the night and sometimes just during the day. There is never anyone even close to the car. Just went to rent a movie and it went off in the parking lot again.

I am stationed in Germany and brought the car to the local Honda dealer and they were not able to see any problems using the HDS. They said all the sensors were working properly. Brought it home and sure enough an hour later the alarm goes off again. Called the dealer again and they wanted me to leave the car there for a week to see if it will happen there. Haven't done that though.

By now my neighbors hate me and I keep pulling fuses when I leave the car to keep it from going off. The interior main fuse was blown, which I replaced and it's been a little less problematic, but still goes off once in a while.

I am so frustrated that I would turn the whole thing off if I only knew how. Any advice on what the cause may be or how I can just disable the alarm?

i just read through the service manual to see if i could find some information for ya and this is what came up

"if one of the switches is misadjusted or shortened internally, or there is a short in the circuit, the system will not arm. A switch that is slightly misadjusted can cause the alarm to sound for no apparent reason. In this case, a significant change in outside temperature, the vibration of a passing truck, or someone bumping into the vehicle can cause the alarm to sound."

I know u said no one was around ur car n all but i'd check to see if the door switches were misadjusted or loose as stated in the manual. gl with ur diagnosis!

I am not sure about HDS, but on the VAG (Volkswagen) tool, it would show the last few reasons the alarm was activated (which sensor, etc.)... and that was 10 years ago.

If I can find the same capability in HDS, I'll post how to do it.

Thanks guys! Will take a look at the switches to see if there is anything visibly wrong. Please let me know if there is any way to tell with the HDS as I'm sure the german mechanics would also appreciate the insight.

Factory alarm going off randomly

I have the exact same problem. For me, the car no longer beeps when the door lock button on the key fob is pressed twice. Also, the lights don't flash. Now my alarm goes off randomly.

We aren't the only ones to encounter this problem.

is it the factory alarm or a dealer added alarm? and is the horn constantly blowing or is it going off like the alarm being triggered? if its factory this might be the problem i have a 1999 escort wagon with a factory alarm and it would go off at night. mainly at around 3 am to 4 am i tried everything and found out it was the steering wheel airbag. when it got colder it would expand and contract causing the horn to blow. i know this might not be what yours is doing but i thought i throw that out there.
