That really sucks bro.. If it comes to it Legacy Gt Spec-B FTMFW!! or STi limited.

If it makes you feel any better I've got a friend that was run off the road by some trick-or-treaters on halloween. The mom and her kid just walked out in front of him from between 2 cars and he swerved the only way that he could - straight up a curb. He had just got his evo tuned and dropped too. Terrible.

Sucks

Wow dude glad you are ok. I would say good to them totaling it out. Cars are never the same after a hit like that. Take the money and run go get a 07 Si or a Subaru WRX. Good to see they are going after the town hope they screw em hard,

Updates!

It's pretty much over for the car. There is $7000 worth of drivetrain damage and that is only what they can see. The insurance adjuster told me that number will most likely go up when the mechanics start working on the car. They don't want to total it though! The tranny is cracked open, the axle is destroyed, the driver's side front suspension is toast and there is significant sub-frame damage. That is all I know right now. I will call the shop tomorrow for more info. Even if they do give me the car back there is no way I will keep it. I worry now about the trade in value. The car isn't worth anything anymore so I can't get enough from a dealer to pay it off. Plus I don't want to lose the down payment. I'm waiting for my agent to get back to me with the suit against the city. I'll let you all know what happens but it looks like I'll be saying to all of you guys soon. I'll check in from time to time, I have made some good friends here. Thanks for all your concern and support.

P.S. I'll keep you guys updated when I learn more.

Anyone driving too fast to stop before hitting a curb in a residential street on halloween is an idiot, imho, and deserves what he got.

Hey guys I know I shouldn't interrupt in someones thread. But different situation happen to me when I was driving outter state on 294 on the construction road where I hit the rock and bent the frame metal running across back behind the front wheels if u look underneath the car you will see it very well. Should I contact the insurance and sue the city for this? I got scratches and dents underneath... There were accidents and the lanes all messed up. people were dodging around from the rocks, barriers and all the construction pieces. It was crazyyyyy!!!

Update!!

I got the full list of damage to my car. It isn't as bad as everyone originally thought (by everyone I mean my insurance, the repair shop and myself).

Bent engine cradle (bolt on part, being replaced)
Bent control arm (being replaced)
Cracked Tranny housing (my tranny is being gutted and the internals are being put in a new housing)
Bent radiator supports (being replaced)
Dent on the floor pan (not noticable from inside or outside the car, being repaired)
Airbags and seatbelts (Being replaced, that is where the bulk of the cost went)
Plastic air dam and assorted plastic bits (being replaced)
They are using all Honda OE parts. I should get the car back within a week or two. They promise it will be good as new and it won't affect the trade in value since there was no frame or chassis damage.
My insurance is still suing the city so I can get my deductible back. Looks like everything will work out. I am going to the shop saturday to check out the car for my self. I will test drive before I give them the check just to make sure everything is perfect. By the looks of it, I will be on 8thcivic for a long time

Woo hoo!!!! Your fbp will live on!!! I'm doing a goofy lil dance in my chair right now.

Glad to hear your baby is getting fixed. I'm also glad to hear that Allstate is suing the city. Rock on.

Update

I just got my final check from Allstate and it looks like I will be picking up the car tonight. It's been 7 weeks with no SI.

THere was more damage than originally thought:
Cat had a bend it it that broke loose a piece of ceramic material inside. It was replaced

Radiator and AC condenser were bent. They were replaced as a precautionary measure.

Total bill with labor $9107.XX (Can't remember the change, LOL)

Luckily there was no Chassis damage or subfram damage with the exception of the engine cross member which was replaced. The car is straight as an arrow. I saw her a few days ago and she looks great. There was no body damage so she looks brand new. I can't wait to take her for a spin tonight!
