Verizon phone charger blows out fuses
Here's a weird one. I have an LG cell phone through Verizon. I used the car charger with no problems for the first few months of ownership of my '06 Civic EX when it started blowing fuses. The dealer told me try switching to a generic charger. Anyone heard of this?

That's weird... Ive never heard that before.. not for the OEM one atleast, if it works in ur son's car it should work in urs but im still inclined to say its defective...
.. When i plugged in my aftermarket nokia charger in my car i heard feedback through the speakers.. it was weird, but the OEM one has no problem |

That really is odd. I've been through about 6 phones (at least) w/verizon through the last 2 years and have never had this happen with a single charger. Most of my phones have been lg's too.
If you want, you could go look at radio shack at the universal car chargers so you can buy one for your phone now and when you get your new phone just change the adapter for it. They also look pretty cool lit up at night =D

i had this same problem with my verizon phone...it works again now after blowing 3 fuses. same charger on all fuses. the cover for the a/c input says has a different voltage than the actual fuse which doesnt make any sense to me. just thought i would add that this has happened to others with phone chargers.

replace it.
A Honda tech told me that some of these units are flawed, and can blow fuses. It's more common than you think. I spent weeks troubleshooting the my Garmin GPS. It ended up being the mini USB cord, same as a cell phone cord. I replaced it with one from Radio Shack and my problems disappeared. |
